What is this weather doing? We must live in Iowa:) It was so warm over the weekend then it stormed yesterday and we had indoor recess, today is beautiful!
In the classroom works have been switched out. We have new practical life and puzzle works. Included in the practical life is a bubble making work. This work includes the tasks of 'peeling' soap with a peeler, adding the pieces to a bowl with water and then mixing it to make bubbles. We have small gourd and pumpkin washing and tweezing kernels off the husk. If you are planning on going to the pumpkin patch this weekend or would like to provide for the class we could use
decorative dry corn for tweezing
medium pumpkin for washing
two larger pumpkins for a carrying work
We will have these works out through November:)
We have started our curriculum study on Pangea this week. We have a puzzle work out of pangea and also a sequencing work showing the time frames of the continents drifting apart.
At the art easel I cut an apple through the middle and the shape of the core with the seed placement makes a star shape. The students can then dip the apple into paint and make apple prints.
Parent teacher conferences are coming up. I am excited to communicate with you the progress your child has been making. November 13, Friday, will be an all day conference day and November 19, Thursday, with be in the evening after school. I will put a conference form outside the classroom for sign up. If you have conflicts both days or have a set time (scheduling around other kids conferences) already planned please email me.
