This week we have been talking about peace as it was international peace day last Sunday. We discussed what is peace during line time and read 'The Peace Book' by Todd Parr. During work time students cut out pictures from magazines and we made a poster of what we think peace means. The poster is hanging in the hallway by the elevator. We read 'The Nice Book' by David Ezra Stein and talked about how our actions can be peaceful. A work out on the shelf is looking at pictures and deciding if it is peaceful or un-peaceful.
There has been a rotation of works. We now have an Autumn matching work, weaving, fruit cutting, parts of an apple book, life cycle of an apple, table setting and folding work out on the shelves. There has been an interest in the bead cabinet which teaches counting, skip counting and number recognition.
It was wonderful to be in the parade with some friends last night and to also see friends watching. The Harvest Fest is coming up weekend after next, I hope to see many of you there!
There is a bathroom issue that keeps occurring that I would like to address. There seems to be more pee ending up on the floor and toilet seat than in the toilet. I discussed this issue with the students week before last and it got better for a time, but has been frequently occurring again. At times it seems unintentional and just needs to be wiped up off the seat, but there is an excess amount ending up on the floor that can't be accidental. It would be helpful bathroom etiquette were discussed at home as a reinforcement. Thank you
