Brrr Please be sure to send your child prepared for the colder weather.
Last week we did a taste testing work with four different kind of liquids. The liquids all had tastes for the different taste buds of bitter, sweet, salty and sour. It was interesting to see different facial expressions and reactions to the liquids. We now have a taste bud book work out on the shelf as well.
We have new practical life, puzzles and sensorial works out.
We started singing 'Down by the Bay' this week and will be learning a new Turkey song
Five Little Turkeys
Five little turkeys standing at the door
One waddled off, and then there were four
Four little turkeys sitting near a tree
One waddled off, and then there were three
Three little turkeys with nothing to do
One waddles off and then there were two
Two little turkeys in the morning sun
One waddled off and then there was one
One little turkey better run away
For soon it will be Thanksgiving day
This week we have been discussing animals and habitats. We touched on rain forest, forest, desert and arctic. There is a new habitat work out with animals for them to explore and match to their habitats.
Thank you Betsy (and Milo) for bringing in her felt Thanksgiving story. The students sat attentively and listened while she presented it on the line. It is now available as a work for the students to tell themselves!
It was great to meet with most of you last week for conferences. There was much laughter and praise for all the students progress. I want to thank all of you for having such wonderful and fun kids!
The Harvest Feast sign up is now in a google docs and (hopefully) sent to you by email. I still have the sign up outside the door. I apologize for getting this out so late.
Have a safe and thankful Thanksgiving!
